A side trip took us to the Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro, PA. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is designated as a National Civil Engineering Landmark. It is still in use today as a passage for the Erie Railroad. …

Cool interesting historical piece of art and engineering feat. Worth checking out if your in the area. Hill to the train tracks is very steep, rocky, and loose, so be careful.

I remember thinking this place was awesome as a child. Today its even more impressive when you realize all that when into building this and how long it has been around.

This stone arch viaduct was built in 1847-48 by the Erie Railroad. It's 1200 ft long 110 ft high 30 ft wide at top.

This is so beautiful in my opinion. The only thing that I would change is the signs there's barely anything there with the history of it.
